Do the Phoenix Suns even care about winning NBA Championships?

Now we are reminded, in the past two games, why this otherwise great franchise has failed to win even a single NBA Championship:

(1) The Suns DON'T hustle to get rebounds (offensive rebounds especially).

(2) The Suns DON'T defend every possession equally (other than Shawn Marion, who brings it EVERY possession).

(3) The Suns DON'T force enough turnovers.

Look at the teams in the history of the NBA who have won NBA Championships and you will see all three areas covered very nicely.

What do the Suns lack when compared to these remarkable teams, like the '96 Bulls and '88 Lakers?

A dominating CENTER who can REBOUND and BLOCK SHOTS!

Mark West doesn't count. Joe Barry Carroll doesn't count. John "Hot Rod" Williams doesn't count. Alvin Adams doesn't count (but he could score at least). And yes, even Amare Stoudemire DOES NOT COUNT! (he's really a Power Forward)

This franchise needs to wake up and realize just how important defense and rebounding really are.

just watch wat they do in the playoffs. 1st of all they were missing defense which is y they got raja bell, lost joe johnson and q rich. 2nd wen the next season started amare went down with a major injury. this is the 3rd season and amare is bak and now they actually have gotten 2 play 2gether and look wat theyve done. they have had numerous win streaks just like the mavs. the suns r championship material

Show me a winner... and I will show you the Phoenix Suns.

It seems like most people like to criticize the Suns even though they do not watch them regularly unless they are on TNT or ESPN. Go figure. Report It

You're probably right. The Suns are probably just winning all these games in the regular season so that they can lose on purpose in the playoffs.
yo man, i just want to say one thing to you,.......... PHOENIX SUCKS
eyes on the prize----
being a long time NBA fan Id have to agree, they are made much like the Mavs from 3 or four years ago, poor on the transition defense and getting boards only on open opportunities, not fighting for them...they will get found out in this years playoffs...
That's true, they don't show the qualities of a championship team. When playoff time comes, they're not going to just outscore teams every night. They have to show some consistency defensively.
I agree. All sports organizations are not equal. It's why that even with free agency, salary caps, and lottery systems to level the playing field, that some organizations still can't ever seem to get it done.
No Way!!! They show all of their stuff in the season
Partly agree with u. I agree totally with u on the three points but u need to know they are a running team and the '96 Bulls definitely was not one. (No too sure about the '88 Lakers). The Suns obviously need a good center who can rebound and block shots (Some one like a Ben Wallace type player with better free throw shooting). But I think the Suns is lack of a good bench (ie 2 to 3 bench players who can run and defense). At the moment they only have one decent player off the bench (Brazillian Blur) )and he is offensive minded. They need some D to create fast breaks. As to the original question, of course they care, they grapped Raja Bell for defense but he is just not enough. They need some Big guys to fence the middle.
